Alice Joyce Batchelder

Alice "Joyce" Batchelder (nee Gray) passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born in Beattyville, KY to Ellis and Fannie (Richardson) Gray. She married Charles Batchelder and they had a daughter Sherry. 

Joyce was a seamstress and fixed and made clothing for many people over the years. She was a cat lover and also enjoyed feeding the birds. Joyce had a green thumb and when family members thought a plant was gone she would revive it. When Joyce was around there was never a quiet moment, since she had a love of talking to everyone and anyone that would listen. She also had a love of family, friends and faith. She was a member of Groesbeck Church of Christ. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Charles Batchelder; parents: Ellis & Fannie (Richardson) Gray; brother: Herman Gray.

Survivors include her daughter: Sherry Bogan; sister-in-law: Debbie Batchelder; nieces: Lisa Batchelder & Traci (Pat) Reuss. 

Graveside services will be held at Hickory Flats Cemetery, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11 am. Pastor Mark Phillips from Groesbeck Church of Christ will officiate.
