Alice Caroline Hoover, 86, only daughter of William and Della Kalberer was born on August 28,1930 and died April 4, 2017. Alice spent her summers as a playground leader under the guidance of Jim Grimm. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1948. Alice then went to work at Lane Public Library. March 9, 1951, Alice married David Hoover and they had two sons, Bill and John. The Hoovers moved to California for several years and on their return, Alice resumed work at the library in the bookmobile department as a clerk and driver. In 1988 Alice retired after 30 years service as a bookmobile supervisor. Formerly a member of the Westwood Presbyterian Church, Alice sang in the choir, was a deacon, and a faithful member. Responding to a call of God, Alice left Westwood to help charter a new church, Headwaters CCC. Alice was a praise singer and organized outreach programs to local missions. Alice loved to lift her voice to sing praises to the Lord as well as the songs of the 1940’s and 50’s, singing them to the amusement of her co-workers and friends. Alice enjoyed playing bridge and looking for projects to help others. She was one of the original information desk volunteers at the Government Services Building. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, David (May 1995) and son, Bill September (1995). She is survived by her son, John (Cincinnati) and lifetime friends and neighbors, Joan and Janet Fatika as well as many other friends. Memorial Services will be held at Headwaters 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2017, Ernie Durbin officiating. Followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
