Anna Scheibert

Anna Scheibert, age 81, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed peacefully at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Home on Monday, July 4, 2011. Anna was born on January 28, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Dixon and Rezilda (Workman) Blake. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1947, attended St. Ann and St Joseph Catholic Churches and is now a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Trenton, Ohio. On February 3, 1951, Rev. Victor Broering united Anna and Donald Eugene Scheibert in marriage at St. Ann Catholic Church. Anna and Don moved their children from Middletown, Ohio to the family farm in Wayne Township of Hamilton, Ohio in 1968. Their love of agriculture was passed down to their five children who were all active 4-H members in Butler County. Anna won numerous blue ribbons for her produce and baking at the Butler County Fair. Anna and son, Donnie, started a produce stand at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Hamilton more than 35 years ago. They sold their produce, baked goods and homemade preserves and pickles. Donnie will continue the Farmer’s Market stand in honor of his mother. Anna is survived by one son, Donnie Scheibert; three daughters, Linda (Steve) Sorrell, Pensacola, FL, Carol Hunt, Eaton, OH and Mitzi (Bruce) Martin, Hamilton, OH; a devoted niece, Joyce Forthegil, Mt. Healthy, OH: life-long friend, Jenny Rikas, Hamilton, OH; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Michelle) Sorrell, Dawn (Kris) Kimbrell, Joe Fowler, Mandy (Mark) Jones, Jacqueline (Jon) Wingler, Dustin Martin and Margo (Kurt) Garver; fifteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and loving dog, Shyloh. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Don; a son, Todd, Honolulu HI; son-in-law, Lloyd (Bud) Hunt, Eaton, OH; two sisters, Stacia Hill and Ruth (Richard) Malone; two brothers, Clarence Blake and Richard (Muriel) Blake. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 8 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, OH with Fr. Thomas McCarty officiating. Burial will be at the Miltonville Cemetery. A reception with the family will follow in the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church Parish Hall. Anna, the matriarch of our family, now rests in peace. The memory of her love of family, cooking, farming and gardening will be with her family forever.
