TAGGART, Arthur L. , age 86, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was the son of Gordon and Mildred (Sweeney) Taggart. Cpl. Taggart, U S Army Air Corps served his country with honor during WW II and received the following decorations and citations: Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 6 Bronze Stars; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal WW II. On March 11, 1947 he was united in marriage to Evelyn A. Horung. Art was a member of the Senior Citizens and the American Legion. He was employed by Drackett Produce as an over the road truck driver. Survivors include his son Dave (Elaine) Taggart; grandchildren David and Jeanie Taggart; two sisters, Florence McCarty and LaVerne Willis; four brothers, Melvin (Aretta), Gordon, Frank and Tim (Jeanie) Taggart; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn A. Taggart; daughter, Darlene Taggart and brother, Robert Taggart.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Ave., Hamilton,Ohio 45013. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton with Elder Lynne Wells, Pastor of the Bond Hill Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial with Military Honors in Venice Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. www.colliganfuneralhome.com
