Carl A. Zimbelman,age 91, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at The Woodlands of Hamilton, Hamilton, Ohio. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Carl H. and Mary (Phillips) Zimbelman. on June 17, 1920. In 1938 he graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School. On October 15, 1945 he was honorably discharged as Technician Fourth Grade, Anti Tank Company, 106 Infantry from the U.S. Army. He married Ruth S. Hussong, in St. Peter Church of Hamilton on April 12, 1947. He graduated from American Television of Technology School in February 1951. In 1970, he and his wife moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where he resided until March 2011. Throughtout his life he worked as an electronic technician at AVCO Corporation in Cincinnati, prepared taxes and sold real estate. Better known as “UNCLE BUD”, he was a great conversationalist with a great sense of humor. His philosophy in life was ” don’t worry, be happy ! “. He is survived by his sister, Mary Mergy; two nieces, Mary Ann (Dan) Watkins and Margaret Mergy; two nephews, Cletus C. Mergy and Thomas (Kathy) Mergy; ten great nieces and nephews; eleven great great nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Robin Pollack in New Smyrna Beach and his extended family at the Woodlands of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Merle Zimbelman, brother-in-law, Cletus J. Mergy, a great great niece and his foster daughter, Mary Lee Tierney. Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Queen of Peace Church, presided by Father Jeffrey Bacon. Burial will follow at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FloridaMonday, August 22, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Woodlands Of Hamilton, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care or Queen of Peace Church. Colligan Funeral Home is assiating the family with arrangements.
