Charles E. Groh, “Charley”, age 72, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born in Fairfield Township on April 22, 1941, the son of George and Catherine (Engel) Groh. He attended St. Ann Grade School and Hamilton Catholic High School. On October 14, 1961, he was united in marriage to Patricia Brown. Charley was a lifelong farmer, starting his career at age 16. He farmed in Butler County, Ohio and Union County, Indiana. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. For 33 years, he was a valued employee at Ford Motor Company. Charley was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always wore a smile, was a friend to everyone and will be missed by all. Survived by his wife, Patricia Groh; five children, Dennis (Pamela) Groh, Cynthia (Doug) Beard, Robert (Angie) Groh, Karen ( Sergey Zhemchuzhny) Groh and Rebecca (Darren) Platt; thirteen grandchildren, Kristina, Jessica, Erica, Dalton, Kyle, Conner, Quentin, Cala, Blayne, Lilly, Christopher, Alex and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Joseph Groh and brother George Groh. Visitation will be Friday, August 9, 2013 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 (513) 892-3322. Prayer services will be conducted on Saturday 9:45 AM at the funeral home. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio.
