Donald Reimer

REIMER,
Donald A. passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder at age 96.

Born in Hamilton on October 22, 1915, he was the son of Earl C. and Marie Keller Reimer. He attended St. Mary School, graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1933 and graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University Evening School in 1954. Don was employed at Internal Revenue Service during his twenty year pursuit of his college degree and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1951. He also served in the Army Air Force in World War II for three years. In 1954, he was a founding partner of the accounting firm of Jennings, Lindsey and Reimer, from which he retired in 1980. Don was a lifetime member of St. Mary/St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church and made numerous retreats at Milford and Gethsemane for over 60 years. On June 7, 1952, he was married to Jeanne Hart, who preceded him in death on November 2, 2007.

He is survived by his son, Donald Hart Reimer (Claudia), his daughter Mary Jeanne Reimer (Charles Bauer), granddaughters, Emily Jeanne Reimer (Jon Buening) and Karen Marie Reimer (Gabe Gibbs), great grandson, Landon Joseph Gibbs, sister-in-law, Charlotte Sanders Reimer, niece, Charlotte Housden, nephews, Robert, Gregory, James and Richard Reimer and their families, cousin-in-law, Kay Dirk, extended family members, Kenda and Kristy Cochran and lifelong special friend, John Osso. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister, LaVerne Grevey and brother, Robert Reimer.

Visitation will be held at Colligan Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM and at Schroder on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
