Donna White

Donna Lynn White, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 12th 2015, in Hamilton, OH. Donna was born September 29th 1949 in Stanford, KY, the daughter of Carlos F.”Toad” Phillips and Ruby (Raines) Phillips of Livingston, KY. Donna attended Fairfield Schools, graduating in 1967 as Salutatorian in a class of 287. She attended Eastern Kentucky University for one year and continued her eduaction when the Miami University Hamilton Campus opened and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1972 and transferred to their Oxford campus to obtain a Master’s of Education degree in 1975. She joined the New Miami Schools staff along with her mother for the next 15 years. Donna enjoyed her teaching career for 32 years. After retiring in 2001, she returned as a director of the National Award winning 21st Century Grant. Her strong work ethic led her into yet another career which became a passion, as a bus driver for BCRTA. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She cheered her Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds on every game. She spent her spare time with the Ladies Auxilary of the American Legion Durwin Schantz Post 138. Also as a member of the Moose Lodge #36 and the Eagles 407. She is survived by her first husband, John Jessie, two brothers, Wallace (Kathy) Phillips and Fred (Bonnie) Phillips, nephew, Christopher Phillips, her lifelong bestfriend, Jan Frazier and her daughter and son, Kelly and Jason Hiler and her beloved neighbors of 36 years, Tom and Shirley Trainor. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Thomas M White. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 16th at Colligan Funeral home, 437 S 3rd, Hamilton, OH 45011 from 10:00AM til time of services at 12:00 PM with Pastor Dr. Wallace A. Miller, officiating. The family wishes a special thanks to the insurmountable compassion and care from Warren Pierce and the Crossroads Hospice team.
