BUTTERFIELD, Dorothy M. age 86 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 28,2009 at Westover .The daughter of Daniel and Anna (Konrad) Dalton, she was born in Hamilton on July 5,1923. On April 27,1943, in Dakota City, Nebraska, she was united in marriage to Henry R. Butterfield. For a number of years she was employed at Baldwin Lima Hamilton. Dorothy was a life time member of several organizations including St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and the American Legion Auxillary 8/40 and the Lindenwald Ladies Association. She was active in the Senior Citizens’ Center. She enjoyed music, going to concerts, daily exercise at the Wellness Center, flowers and collecting afghans and quilts. Dorothy was a devouted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her five children and their families; Cathy (Rick) Johnson and their children, Sarah (Brad), Scott (Brianna) and Sandy (Jason):Sharon (Doug) Trimmer and their children, Laura (Tom) Puckett and Jennie: Richard H. (Karan) Butterfield and their children, Zachary, Kelly and Kimberly: Mary (Lee) Cornett and their children, Tanner and Ellee: Diana (Len) Harris and their children, Matthew and Vincent; eleven great grandchildren and a sister- in – law, Agnes Dalton and her family. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry R. Butterfield and brother, Melvin Dalton. Prayer service will be 9:00 AM Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street, Hamilton. Followed by Mass of the Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Peter In Chains Church.Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
