FITZWATER, Florence Mildred “Boots”, age 87, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Hamilton, a daughter of Raymond and Lydia (Yeager) Weber on March 5, 1922. In February of 1942 she married Gordon W. Fitzwater. Florence was educated at St. Ann School and Notre Dame High School. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church her entire life. She was also an Auxillary member of the VFW and worked for Allied Printing Co. until she was into her 70’s. Florence is survived by her daughter, Janet (Terry) Martin; son, Michael (Vickie) Fitzwater; son, Gregory (Marcie) Fritzwater; stepson, Don (Ellie) Fitzwater, Dunnellon, FL.; brother, Raymond “Shorty” Weber, St. James, FL.; three grandchildren, David Martin, Michael (Tiffany) Fitzwater and Corey Fitzwater; three great-grandchildren, Logan Fitzwater, Brayden Fitzwater and Maycie Fitzwater; a special tailwagger, Chuckie; a number of loving nieces and nephews and her friends, D’Nell Chafin, Ann Morgan and Jane Fowler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Fitzwater; brothers Herbert Weber and Vernon Weber; sister, Helen (Weber) Barnicle; her parents, Lydia and Raymond Weber; sister-in-laws, Waneta Weber and Mildred Weber; brother-in-law, Delbert Barnickle and a niece, Sandra Weber. Florence loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping with her husband, Gordon, loved planting flowers and grooming her yard which was always perfect. Florence would often sit on her front porch where she would share a familiar wave with family and friends. She was an avid pitch player, meeting at the VFW and AM-VETS when she was able. At 87, Florence took her first plane ride accompanied by her children to visit relatives in Florida. Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Colligan Funeral Home. Sympathy may be expressed by memorial contribution to Badin High School or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
