Geneva Looney

Geneva H. “Granny” Looney, age 89, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011. The daughter of Sidney and Rebecca (Higgins) Hale, she was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on February 27, 1922. She was united in marriage to Bill Looney. Granny was a life member of the VFW Chuck Cain Post 7670 Ladies Auxillary. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. Survived by her son, Bill (Clara) Looney; grandson Matt (Brandy) Looney; three great grandchildren, Sabrina, Makenzie and Bryson; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Claude, Clyde and Charlie Hale. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Garden Manor Nursing Staff at North Station and Atrium Medical Center, 3rd Floor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Colligan Funeral Home. Burial in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
