Howard Cohen, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017. Born in Middletown, OH on March 14, 1923, the son of Louis and Selma Cohen. On October 17, 1947, he married Naydean Rudicil. Howard was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps 1943-1946. He was in the jewelry and furniture businesses for 60 years. Howard was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue, Elks Club, VFW 7670, American Legion 138 and Partners-in-Prime where he enjoyed playing cards with the fellows and was active in the Veteran’s Discussion Group.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Naydean Cohen; children, Deborah (Rick) Pulliam of Clermont, FL, Richard (Pat) Cohen of Maineville, OH and Stephany (Dave) Sloneker of Ross, OH; granddaughter, Maria (Chris) Coleman; step-grandsons, Greg (Kristi) Pulliam and Eric (Delina) Pulliam; great-grandsons, Travis, Lucas and Aiden; step-great-grandchildren, Christian, Lauren, Cameron and Rylan along with many special nieces and nephews. He particularly enjoyed his breakfast outings to Hyde’s with his nephew, Rob Cohen.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Molly Cohen Murstein and three brothers, Robert Cohen, Saul Cohen and Phillip David Cohen.
Visitation will be at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street, Hamilton on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 1:00 PM til time of service at 2:00 PM with Rabbi Eric Slaton officiating. Burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Beth Israel Synagogue, 50 N 6th St., Hamilton, OH 45011 or Partners-in-Prime (Transportation), 230 Ludlow St., Hamilton, OH 45011.
