Jack E. Cohen passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 after 69 years of sharing his genuine warmth, generosity and big hearty laugh with his beloved family and friends. The son of Daniel and Joy (Jenwic) Cohen, he was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Tulane University in 1972 with a BA in economics, earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and became a licensed attorney in 1975. A smart and natural entrepreneur, upon graduation he joined his father in running the family business, Daniel Cohen Enterprises, which he led successfully for 35 years. Jack's family brought him immense pride and joy. A devoted and loving husband to Laura (Hargitt), they spent 36 happy years together in Oxford, Ohio, raising their daughters, Cassie and Claire. He was a loving brother to Doug and Harvey, son-in-law to Fred and Estelle, brother-in-law to Stacey, Jane, Clay, and Debbie, father-in-law to Bavo, and adoring grandfather, Hazel. He was a true and lifelong friend to many, and an active member of the Oxford and Hamilton communities. Jack was well known and admired for his fun loving nature, sense of humor, and sincerity. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, dining with friends, and a good glass of bourbon or wine, as well as playing in a monthly poker game for 40 years. Jack will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. He was truly agreat man with an unforgettable personality. Considering the current distancing recommendations, a private graveside service will be held at Oxford Cemetery.
