BRADLEY,
James age 88, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton, on Wed., April 28, 2010. He was born in Lexington, KY on June 24, 1921, the son of James and Mary (Feck) Bradley. On February 25, 1941, he was inducted into The United States Army in Fort Thomas, KY. Mr. Bradley served two years, seven months and twenty-eight days of Foreign Service which included the following battles and campaigns: Algeria-French, Morocco, Central Europe, Naples-Foggia, Rhineland, Rome-Arno, Sicily and Southern France Tunisia. On June 29, 1945 James Bradley Jr., Technician Fifth Grade of the Anti-Tank Company 7th Infantry was issued an honorable discharge at Fort Dix, New Jersey. On October 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Jean Parker. Jim had been employed with the Hamilton Police Dept. from 1945 to 1957; Champion Paper for seven years; served as Chief of Police in New Richmond, OH for one and a half years; Chief of Police in Loveland, OH until 1968 and retired from Fisher Body in 1988. He was a member of the Elks Cincinnati B P O E No 5 and the Masonic Lodge. Jim was a Life Member of the following: Monkey Mutual Aid Society No 1, VFW Post 7670 Chuck Cain, Amvets Post 1983 and the American Legion Post 138 where he had served in many capacities and is currently on the Executive Board. In November of 1993 he was united in marriage to Doris Nienover. Survivors include sons: James Bradley, Phil (Debbie) Bradley and Patrick Bradley; two step daughters: Penny Ann (Paul) Van Nortwick and LaRae (Carl) Metcalf; grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; family and special friends: (Terry A. Bradley,) Bill Harvey, Glen Mills, Russ Chafin and Ella Lamb. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean Bradley August 1989; second wife, Doris Bradley November 1998; two sisters, Anna Mae Brummer and Dorothy Roberson and step son, John Roberts. Visitation will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 from 10:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 12 Noon in the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton OH.
