RUTHERFORD, James Robert, 73, of New Miami, passed away 7:36 AM Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born August 8, 1935, in Pineville, Kentucky, the son of John and Della (Hensley) Rutherford. Jim had been employed at Purina-Ralston and Mosler. He later owned and operated Rutherford Construction. On December 17,1955, on Jellico Mountain, in Tennessee, he was united in marriage to Geneva McCreary and to this union six children were born. Geneva preceded him in death June 9, 2003. Jim was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of the Optimist Club and the Champion Fishing Club. Survivors include his children and their families; three sons, Rod (Leslie) Rutherford, Tim Rutherford and John Rutherford; three daughters, Kathy Hanson (Tim Krauser), Carla Rutherford and Robbie (Jody) Gregory; ten grandchildren, Kristopher, Jill, Wilson, Katie, Eva, Jesse, Chelsea, Cody, Tyler and Sissy Sue : one sister, Gladys (Roy) Hill; many nieces, nephews and a circle of dear friends too numerous to mention . Besides Geneva, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Luther, Alfred “Ike” and Nead Rutherford and one sister, Thelma Rutherford. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 So. 3rd Street, Hamilton. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
