Joseph Russo

RUSSO, Joseph J., age 95, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Berkeley Square.
He was born in Hamilton on May 22, 1917, the son of Antonio and Angela Marie (Frashone) Russo. Joe had attended St. Joseph School. On August 9, 1940, he was united in marriage to Thelma King and to this union four children were born. During WW II, Joe along with his two brothers entered into active service with the US Army on May 12, 1944. After serving His country with honor, Joe was discharged on June 9, 1946. He was a member of the Italian-American Society for over 50 years and the Ironworkers Local #44 for over 65 years. He enjoyed playing and watching golf, however, his greatest love and passion was his family.

He is survived by his children, Wayne (Linda) Russo, Toni Russo and Joe (Linda) Russo; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma; son, John Russo; two brothers and three sisters.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the administration, the staff and friends at Berkeley Square, especially, Joe’s “favorite” and to the staff at Hospice of Cincinnati.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Colligan Funeral Home. Followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences to www.colliganfuneralhome.com
