BOWLING, Josephine “Jo”, age 79, of Hamilton, Ohio died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. The daughter of Pasquale and Annunziata (Russo) Accorinti, she was born in Hamilton on May 4, 1930. Jo was a 1948 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was a dedicated employee of Isgro’s Italian Restarrant over a span of thirty – three years and later was employed at the Hamiltonian Hotel until her retirement in 2002. Jo was a member of St. Julie Billiart Church. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and holidays, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children; Stephanie (William) Barnthouse, Vickie (Roger) Mapel, Bobby (Melissa) Bowling, Michael (Amy) Bowling and Jeannette (Colin) Bullard; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; two sisters, Sarafina Pyfrin and Philomena (Earl) Abrams; one brother, Paul (Viola) Accorinti; sister-in-law, Evelyn Accorinti and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Angelo; one brother, Salvatore “Sam” Accorinti; one sister, Mary Robertson; one great grandson, Michael Cassidy and the late Bobby Bowling. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Fort Hamilton ICU and Hospice of Hamilton who cared for Jo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Prayers will be conducted at 9:15 AM Wednesday at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton. Followed by Mass of the Christian Burial 10:00 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church with Rev. Michael Pucke officiating. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
