Mary K Johnson

Mary Kathryn McFarland Johnson, of Hamilton, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 78. Mary was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 19, 1945 to Mary J. (Hynes) and Eugene W. McFarland. She graduated from Notre Dame High School. Mary was a wonderful mother and was always there to support her children, Gina and Michael, in life's ups and downs. She co-owned the Dixie Pony Keg for many years with her sister and met many people along the way. Mary had a deep affection for cats and always had a cat or two in the house. Family was important to her and she enjoyed attending family get-togethers and her grandchildren's sporting events. She met the love of her life, David Johnson, and they married on April 2, 1993. Together, they shared joyful adventures, with Las Vegas being one of their favorite destinations.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson; her parents, Eugene W. and Mary J. (Hynes) McFarland; and her siblings, Eugene (Nancy) McFarland and Jane (Bill) Moreland.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved children: Gina (Jack) Calhoun and Michael (Penny) Arno; cherished grandchildren: Tony, Joey, Danielle, Jessica, Matt, and Bailey (Mariah); beloved great-grandchildren: Shawn, Spencer, and Liam; and dear brother Brian (Sue) McFarland. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold dear the memories they shared with her. The Johnson family will be having a Graveside ceremony at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, September 28, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
