Mary Virginia ” Jennie ” White, a life long resident of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Berkeley Square. Jennie was born April 9, 1925, the daughter of Herbert F. and Rose Ann (Engbersen) Jones. She graduated from St. Ann School, Notre Dame High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Over a 49 year period she had practiced her profession at Mercy and Ft. Hamilton Hospitals, G.M. Fisher Body Medical Dept. and as a Hamilton School Nurse. She retired in 1995 from Mercy Hospital Emergency Room. She, at one time, was co-owner of The Final Touch Gift Shop on High Street. Since retirement she had volunteered at the Butler County Juvenile Justice Center, three rest homes and Hospice. A member of St. Peter’s Church, Sunday Adult Choir, Rosary Altar Society, Prayer Group, Bereavement Committee and K of C Auxillary. She was involved in the DECA Program at Badin High School and had judged students in Hamilton, Cincinnati and Columbus. Her interests were music, singing, dancing, cooking and traveling. On October 4, 1947 she married Charles White Jr. and he preceded her in death after 32 years of marriage. Jennie is survived by one son, Charles Stephen White and wife, Vicky Ann of Columbia, Tennessee; one sister, Christine Ann Koher of Florida; two grandsons, Kevin Matthew and Tyler Corbin White; one nephew, and two nieces of Florida and many devoted friends.Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2012 at St. Peter in Chains Church from 9:00 AM til time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Rev. Timothy S. Bunch officiating. Burial in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her wish was for memorials to Badin High School Scholarship Fund or to St. Peter in Chains Church.
