Matthew Scrimizzi

SCRIMIZZI, Matthew, age 86, of Hamilton passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Cincinnation August 3, 1924, the son of Carmelo and Katherine (Cucinotta) Scrimizzi. Matt was a graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. On December 23, 1947 he was united in marriage to Virginia “Virgie” Jones.
For over 40 years, Matt was employed by General Motors. Survived by his three daughters; Sharon Scrimizzi, Cynthia (Daniel Kuykendoll) Scrimizzi and Marcia (Richie) Burkhardt; one granddaughter, Emma Burkhardt; sister, Rose Isgro; two brothers, Dominic (Shirley) Scrimizzi and James (Vivian) Scrimizzi; sister-in-law, Barbara Scrimizzi and brother-in-law, Marvin Wilhelm He was preceded in death by his wife of over 57 years, Virgie Scrimizzi in 2005; son, Mark Scrimizzi in 2009; three sisters, Mary Eliason, Josephine Isgro and Janet Wilhelm and brother, Joseph Scrimizzi. Prayer service will be conducted 9:15 AM Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Colligan Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Entombment in St. Stephen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
