BUCKLEY Norman “Sy”, 83, of Hamilton, OH, and Newton, MA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2009. He was born on May 26, 1926 in Hamilton, OH and lived there until his move to Massachusetts in 2002 to be near his daughter. T/4 Buckley,U.S. Army , served as a communication specialist stationed in Alaska and received an honorable discharge on May 17, 1947. He was one of three children of Charles and Mildred Buckley of Buckley’s Café. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Renneker and his brother, Dennis Buckley. Sy touched many lives over the years and never met a stranger. He had a love for life and a heart for sharing with others. He lived for his car rides and for ice cream! Sy loved being outdoors and saw beauty in the smallest things. He leaves behind his daughter Julie Macrae of Weston, MA, and his four sons, Tim Buckley of Amelia, OH, Steve Buckley of Indianapolis, IN, John Buckley of Bishop, GA, and Brian Buckley of Cincinnati, OH along with numerous grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 PM until time of services at 2 PM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd St., Hamilton. His son Pastor John Buckley will be officiating.
