Paul Menchen

Paul H. “Slip” Menchen , age 94, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Golden Years Nursing Home. Slip was born on July 7, 1916, in Hamilton, to Frank and Carrie (Weber) Menchen. On April 18, 1942 he married Rita Briede. During WWII , Slip proudly served His country with the US Army from May 5 1942 to January 18, 1946. He is survived by his wife, Rita Menchen: daughters, Martha (John) Sackenheim, Sarah (Dan) Mahlerwein and Linda Menchen; grandchildren, Philip (Missy) Sackenheim and Dawn Frank; great-grandchildren, Megan and Brett Sackenheim; sister, Rosemarie (Glen) Truster; sisters-in-law, Helen O’Donohue and Dorothy Briede and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Adrian Menchen S.J. and sisters, Louise and Marcella Menchen and Rita Truster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to donor’s choice of charity. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 PM at the Colligan Funeral Home.
