Ralph White, age 71, of Hamilton passed away at 11:36 AM Monday, July 1, 2013 at Hospice of Hamilton. Ralph was born in Hamilton on July 10, 1941, the son of William L. and Dorothy (Hornsby) White. He was a 1958 graduate of Hamilton High School. Master Sgt. White retired from the U S Army on November 1, 1982 after completing 23 years of service. An ammunition foreman inspector, he entered the Army on June 16, 1959. His military career included assignments in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He received the Army Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Berlin), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Good Conduct Award (seventh), Expert Qualification Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Oversesa Service Ribbon (3) and Rifle M-16 Expert Qualification Badge. Ralph was employed as a letter carrier with the U S Postal Service from 1984 til his retirement in 2004. On September 28, 1962 he was united in marriage to Maria Geier and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2005. On March 8, 2006 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Campbell. Ralph enjoyed travelling in his camper and spent winters in Florida. He was a life time member of the VFW, Eagles and the AMVETS. Ralph is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; stepson, David Nevills II; siblings, Barbara White, Glen (Gloria) White, Linda (Mike) Boyle and Norma White; numerous nieces , nephews and friends and his companions, Little Lady and Sarge. Besides his wife, Maria, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Dunaway and brother, William White Jr..The White Family wishes to thank Dr Lang, Dr Winter, Ft Hamilton Hospital, Hospice of Hamilton and staff for their excellent services, hopes and prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street, Hamilton from 9:00 AM til time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial with military services in Millville Cemetery.
