Robert L.Huesing, age 88, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Bob was born in Hamilton on March 25, 1926, the second of eight children born to William and Florence (Griesinger) Huesing. He attended St. Joseph Parochical School and Ross High School. He had attended annual luncheons with Ross High School classmates until this past year. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on USS LST 1039 in the Pacific during WW II. One of his fondest memories is his trip to Washington D.C. on the Freedom Honor Flight. Bob was honored to be recognized as a veteran. He was employed with Mosler Safe Co. for 47 years. After retiring from Mosler, he worked in security at Ohio Casualty Insurance Co.until age 81. Bob, an avid walker, was known for walking the office stairs and downtown Hamilton during his work breaks. He was a member of St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church. He was a man of great Faith and performed many private charitable acts for others. He is survived by his children, Cathy (Doug) Detrick, Sue Huesing and Char (Mark) Lehman; his grandchildren, the light of his life, Lauren and Michael Detrick, Aaron, Vince, Shannon and Chris Lehman; his brother, Mark (Hazel) Huesing other family members and friends. Preceding him in death, Catherine E. (Stiver) Huesing; two sons, David and Robert Huesing; two brothers, Bill and Paul Huesing and four sisters, Kathleen, Ann, Elaine and Mary. Visitation will be at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 10:00 AM til time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
