Ronald Murphy

Ronald L. “Murph” Murphy, age 78, a resident of Hamilton, passed away at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Bradford Place. He was born in Hamilton on December 8, 1935. Ron was a1953 graduate of Hamilton High School. On August 9, 1954, he was united in marriage to Barbara Kessen and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2006. He was employed at Champion Paper for 40 years. He was an active volunteer in school boosters groups and after his stroke in 1997, volunteered at Fort Hamilton and Mercy Hospitals, Vitas Hospice and Schroder Manor. Ron and Barb were Eucharist Ministers for St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church, visiting home bound parishioners. Survivors include his daughters, Ronda New and Paula (Chris) Mate; grandchildren, Paul, David, Luke, Kara and Jake; many friends and acquaintances including his special friend, Jeane Kroger.Visitation will be from 5:30 PM til a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2014 at Bradford Place Chapel, 1302 Millville Ave, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice or Shared Harvest.
