Serafina Pyfrin , 90, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012. She was born in Calabria, Italy on June 12, 1921, the daughter of Pasquale and Annunziata (Russo) Accorinti. In 1928 she and her family immigrated to America. Serafina had sold produce from the farm during the depression. For many years she was a sales clerk at various retail stores in Hamilton. On May 21, 1944, Serafina was united in marriage to Donald Pyfrin. She was proud of her heritage, had a smile for everyone, was an outgoing, kind and dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She is survived by son, Joe (Angie) Pyfrin; daughter, Linda Pyfrin and loving companion, Casey Texler; daughter-in-law, Jan Pyfrin; grandchildren, Joey, Janna, Jeff, Mike and Missy; many great- grandchildren; sister, Philomena (Earl) Abrams; brother Paul (Viola) Accorinti; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; son, Tony Pyfrin; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Evelyn Accorinti and two sisters, Josephine Bowling and Mary Robertson. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. Joseph Church. Interment in St. Stephen Cemetery.
