Shawn Miley

Shawn Michael Patrick “Mike” Miley. Born Jan. 25, 1951, residing in Hamilton, OH his entire life, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was employed at Mosler Safe, American Tool, Pease and Pella when forced to retire in 2011 due to company closure.He graduated from Garfield Sr. High, attended Xavier University and D. Russell Lee as well as numerous seminars.Michael received numerous awards and recognitions from his places of employment. Michael initated and remained very active in past years with Hamilton’s North End Neighborhood Watch Program and Hamilton’s Police Dept. Crime Prevention Program. Mike enjoyed listening to the Beatles, was an expert machinist, was a master at wooworking and also enjoyed watching war movies and spending time outside doing yard work. Michael was very patriotic and displayed our American Flag in honor of our dad, Charles who served bravely in WWII, as well as honoring the Veterans of today and yesterday. Preceeding him in death was his mother, Ileen Spaulding, his nephew, Rian Beck, and his father, Charles Miley. He leaves his sisters, Karyl Miley McKnight and Kelly (Andy) Hayes; his nieces, Lauren Beck, Kaitlyn Hayes, Kendra Nunn and Andria (William) Stanton; his nephew, Logan Beck; children Shawnna Miley Ragsdale and Tammy Miley; cousins, Terry Roberson, Celeste Richards, and Bobbie (Gunther) Swain; his very close friends, Janie Turley, Tom (Michell) Powell and Gary Grammel. Special thanks to Tony at North End Market and Hospice of Hamilton. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Colligan Funeral Home from 10:00 AM til time of service at 12:00 PM. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
