Thomas Cappella Jr.

Thomas John Cappella Jr., age 64, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born in Hamilton on January 2, 1948 to Thomas and Dorothy (Zecher) Cappella. Tom graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1966 and from Urbana College in 1980. Sgt. Cappella, US Air Force, served His country with honor fom 1967-1971. In addition to his employment as a purchasing agent, Tom enjoyed continuing the family amusement business. He is survived by one son, Matthew Cappella; two daughters, Katherine (Richard) Korte and Heather (Bryan) Cepluch; two grandchildren, Ethan and Lauren Cepluch; two brothers, Michael (Rebecca) Cappella and John (Pam) Cappella; three sisters, Patty Seegers, Caroline “Skip” Groeber and Barbara Cappella; nieces, nephews and his companion of eleven years, Sandy Jackson, her daughter, Lisa and grandchildren, Kody and Kyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Cappy” and Dorthy Cappella. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Colligan Funeral Home from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Monday at St. Julie Billiart Church.
