Thomas Conese

Thomas A. ” Tom “,Conese, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. He was born June 3, 1935, in Hamilton, the son of Leonardo and Carmella (Dellagatto) Conese. He was united in marriage to Shirley Eck and to this union five children were born. Tom was employed at Beckett Paper Company as a Production Facilator in the Finishing Room, retiring in 1995 after 36 1/2 years of service. Tom along with his wife, Shirley, owned and operated Papa Conese’s Pizza in Hamilton from 1962-1986 and in Fairfield from 1969-1989. Tom had given to the community through many organizations where he was a member including the Eagles from 1954-1959, the Fairfield Optimist for 12 years, had helped organize the first boy’s soccer league, lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as Guard and the Jaycees, working with the Soap Box Derby. Tom was very proud of his Italian heritage. In 1973 he joined the Italian American Society and held office of the President for 25 years. He is survived by his children; Anna Marie (Chuck) Hudson, Anita Crain, Tom Conese, Joani Tucci and Julie Goehler; his grandchildren, Amy (Andy) Kirtland, Amanda (Dennis) Adelsperger, Tony Hudson and fiancee, Cara Donner, Scott Hudson and Brittney Prather, Ben Crain, Natalie Crain, Jeri Conese, Jessica (Shawn) Bowling, Ashley Goehler and Megan Goehler: great grandchildren, Bradley, Logan, Helena, Lilly, Olivia, Ryan, Sierra, Jeff, Serenity, Allura and Landen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley, grandson, Daniel Tucci and his siblings, Rocco Conese, Rose Kroeger, Generoso Conese and Teresa Stuart. Special thanks to his devoted son-in-law, Chuck for his loving care, his nephew, Mike Conese, for continuous visits and to the entire staff at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Home in Monroe especially Renee, Sara, Brooke and Katie. Visitation will be Wednesday at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton from 5:00 PM to 8:00 Pm with the Italian American Society Services at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church will Rev. Larry Tharp officiating. Entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum.
