Thomas L. Fischer, age 76, a lifelong resident of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013. He was born in Hamilton on September 6, 1936, the son of W. Boyce and Hazel (Harmon) Fischer. He attended St. Peter in Chains Grade School, was a 1954 graduate of Hamilton High School and a 1958 graduate of Xavier University where he had played on the Xavier basketball team. On December 27, 1958 he was united in marriage to Nancy C. Schawe. Tom owned and operated Fischer Tool & Supply. Tom was a great sports fan, enjoying and following Notre Dame, Xavier and the Reds. A devoted and loving husband and father, Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy C. Fischer; son, Tim Fischer; granddaughter, Jessica Armstrong; great grandson, Jace Armstrong; two brothers, Dan (Kay) Fischer and James “Pete” (Mary Ann) Fischer; two additional sisters- in -law, Carole Fischer and the late Jay Fischer and Mary Jo Schawe and the late Richard Schawe; brother-in-law, Bert Imfeld and the late Joan Imfeld; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Queen of Peace Church from 10:00 AM til time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Treatment & Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
