John Michael “Mike” Thompson, age 70, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. Mike was born in Hamilton on August 1, 1948, the son of James W. and Margerie (Short) Thompson. He was a graduate of Taft High School. He was a combat flight veteran, having served with honor in the Vietnam War. After 37 years of employment with General Mills, he retired. Survived by son, James (Bev) Thompson; daughter, Misty (Shannon) Jones; seven grandchildren, Jenifer (Kolton) Evans, Scott (Sarah) Jones, Chrissy Jones, Tatum Thompson, Samantha Jones, Tug Jones and Hunter Thompson; six great grandchildren; two brothers, James W. Thompson Jr. and Stephen (Karen) Thompson; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda and son, John M. “Bub” Thompson Jr. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Colligan Funeral Hom. Burial with Military Honors will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Mike had requested that donations be made to Children’s Hospital.
