Karen (Davidson) Compton, age 64, of Hamilton, passed away, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Hamilton on December 30, 1949, the daughter of Walter “Pete” and Dorothy (Weber) Davidson. Karen was a dedicated employee of the Lane Public Library for over 38 years. Survivors include her husband, Earnest “Earnie” Compton; sister, Terry Davidson; brother, Pete (Carol) Davidson; three step daughters, Margaret (Bob) Keltner, Kathy (Wayne) Stitzel and Amy Freund; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; step sister, Paula (Gary) Kammeron and their children, Sheila and Scott and their children; special nephew, Pete (Kim) Davidson; three great nephews, Miles, Drew and Ben; other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Dorothy Davidson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mercy Hospital and Dr. William Krall. Prayer services will be 9:15 AM Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street. Followed by funeral services 10:00 AM at St. Peter In Chains Church. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to Butler County Animal Friends.
