Karen Ann Smith , age 68, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away at 5:29 PM Friday, November 16, 2012 at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born August 8, 1944, in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Gordon F. and Mary Louise (Cassidy) Smith. Karen graduated from Taft High School in 1962, Bowling Green State University in 1966 and pursued a career in Communications and Business. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Anne Mercurio and brother, Peter Wortendyke, both of Hamilton. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lee and Wakefield Epps of Charlottesville, Virginia; brother, Gordon and Lois Smith of Bradford, Ohio; nephew, Vincent Mercurio, niece, Kathy Mercurio, nieces, Kim Massie and Lisa Swing, nephew, Peter Wortendyke, nieces, Patti Yellman and Mary Jane Epps, nephew, Clinton Epps, niece, Carrie Smith and nephew, Wade Smith. At her request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please direct memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
