Louis E.,Schanding, age 88, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton on December 6, 1928, the son of Charles and Mary Rose (Feix) Schanding. Louis served His country with honor during WWII in the US Navy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his children, David (Kathy), Greg, Chris and Kathy Schanding, Margie Whitaker and Mary Jane (Eddie) Miller; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded ion death by his wife of 60 years, Therese (Lagedrost) Schanding. Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Colligan Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
