Marie I. Martin, age 85, a former resident of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011. Marie was born January 26, 1925 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Jesse and Ida (Bell) Land. On April 28, 1945 she was united in marriage to Rene R. Martin and to this union one daughter and three sons were born. She was retired from United Dairy Farmers. Marie was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Rene R. Martin; daughter, Linda Martin; three sons, Russell (Shirley) Martin, Ronald (Lisa) Martin and Roger Martin; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Otis Land and daughter-in-law, Kim Martin. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 330 Lebanon Street, Monroe.Burial in Butler Memorial Memorial Park. Visitation 6:00 Pm to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Colligan Funeral Home, Hamilton.
