ST.JOHN, Mildred A.”Sweets”age 93, a resident of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Hamilton on May 12, 1915, the daughter of Jacob and Mathilda (Suerman) Westrick. Sweets was a graduate of St. Stephen Grade School and Notre Dame Academy. On July 29, 1950, in St. Stephen Church, she was united in marriage to Norbert J. St. John. Sweets was employed in the Food Preparation Dept. of Badin High School from 1967-1983. Mrs. St.John was a long time member of St. Stephen Church, for a number of years she was a member of St. Joseph Church and for years she has attended Mass daily at St. Peter In Chains Church of Hamilton. Survivors include her children; Richard (Carol A.) St. John, Norbert (Carol L.) St. John and Mary St. John; grandchildren , Danielle (Kevin) Johnson, Jerrilynn (Jason) Gundrum, Richard J. St.John Jr., Jill St. John and Jason St.John and great grandchildren, Bailey Johnson, Andrew Johnson and Jason Gundrum Jr.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norb St. John (3/9/07); one son, David C. St. John (1/24/05); four brothers, Jacob, Paul, Edward and William Westrick and five sisters, Margaret Schick, Mary Mitchell, Rhode Westrick, Norma Hirschman and Ruth Westrick.Visitation will be from 8-10:15 AM Tuesday at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Peter In Chains Church of Hamilton and burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.The St. John Family wishes to thank management and staff at Berkeley Square Retirement Community for their loving care and the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for their care.
