Photo & obit for Sunday Hamilton Journal————-BECK, Riyan Charles, 31 of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was born in Hamilton on July 19, 1978. Riyan was a 2nd degree blackbelt, was a master of martial arts and had won many ribbons and medals. He was very thankful to his sensais, Jerome and Jeremy Cook. He loved animals, especially his dog, Meiko, and had always helped stray animals. A giving person, even to those he didn’t know. Riyan always had a hug, a smile and “I love you” even to strangers. Survivors include his mother and closest friend, Karyl Miley McKnight; his beloved children, Lauren Marie and Logan Charles; grandmother, Ileen Spaulding; aunt and uncle Kelly Hayes and Mike Miley; mother of his children and love of his life, Susan Banfield; other family members and numerous friends including Joey, Rick, Brian, Jimmy, Ryan, Steve, and Ryan. Preceded in death by two grandfathers, Papa Charles Miley and Papa Butch Spaulding and grossmutter, Rose. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Monday, October 12, 2009, at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton 45011. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
