SAMS, William S., 85 of Hamilton, passed away 1:05 AM Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 29, 1924, the son of Greene and Armilda (Messer) Sams. He served our country with honor in the US Army during WW II. Bill was employed at Champion Paper Company for thirty years. For twenty years he volunteered his time with the West Side Little League Assn.. He loved his boxer dogs, especially the late, Shanghi. On June 29, 1946, he was united in marriage to Mattie C. Parsley and to this union five children were born. Survivors include his children; Steven (Mary) Sams, Bob (Debby) Sams, Sherry Tincher and Larry Sams; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother Armond (Barbara) Sams; sister Wilma Weber; other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mattie; son, Billy Sams; brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Colligan Funeral Home. Burial in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. www.colliganfuneralhome.com
